Fresno catcher Hunter Goodman and Visalia LHP Liam Norris have been named California League Player and Pitcher of the Week for May 9 – 15.
HUNTER GOODMAN – Fresno Grizzlies catcher Hunter Goodman was 12-f0r-26 against Visalia last week with a double, a triple and three home runs. Included were two three-hit games and one five-RBI game. His nine home runs have him third in the league and his .598 SLG is also good for third. Goodman was drafted in the fourth round last year out of Memphis.
LIAM NORRIS – Visalia’s Liam Norris went 5 1/3 innings against Fresno on Sunday with no runs allowed on one hit and one walk while striking out eight. It was the longest outing of Norris’ career. With 36 strikeouts he is tied for sixth in the league and his 1.04 WHIP would be tied for the Cal League if he had another 1 2/3 innings to qualify. Norris was drafted in the third round of the 2020 draft.
