HOMESTAND PREVIEW FOR MODESTO NUTS

The Modesto Nuts begin the second week of their two- week homestand tonight at 7:05 PM against the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. Last time the Nuts faced the Quakes, the Nuts won the 2023 Championship!. Join us for a week filled with fun!

April 30- Together Tuesday- Bring in any two non-perishable items and receive a free ticket to the game presented by Valley First Credit Union

May 1- Silver Sluggers Night presented by Hearing Life

May 2- Pups & Pints Night- Bring your dogs to the park for Free and enjoy 1/2 of regular sized premium draft beer. Presented by Bark and Michelob Ultra

May 3- Strikes or Treat Night Presented by Aspire City Schools. Are you a big halloween fan or maybe just like candy? Head to John Thurman Field for Strikes or Treat. We will be having our own version of trunk or treat. Bring the kids for a great family fun filled evening.

STOCKTON PORTS MONDAY BASEBALL BULLETIN

In Sunday’s series finale against the Modesto Nuts, the Stockton Ports fought their way to a win coming back from a two-run deficit, ultimately taking two of six from the Nuts this past week in Modesto. The Ports will look to bounce back this week against the Visalia Rawhide starting on Tuesday, April 30th

PREVIOUS GAMES

  • Tuesday, April 23 – : A pitcher’s duel went to the Nuts on Tuesday night, as Modesto shut down the Ports eighth-inning rally to edge Stockton 3-0 in game one of a six-game series. Chen Zhuang pitched well in his second start of the season, allowing just one run in that came in fourth inning on a bloop single.
  • Wednesday, April 24 – The Ports lost in their first extra-inning game of the season on Wednesday night, dropping 7-6 decision in 11 innings to the Modesto Nuts. The Ports never trailed in the game until it ended.
  • Thursday, April 25 –  Game three saw the Ports shut down the potent Nuts offense and score three runs in 5th. Ryan Lasko singled to load the bases, before Luke Mann drew a bases-loaded walk to tie the game at 2-2. Myles Naylor would hit a grounder deep into the hole at short for an RBI groundout to make it 3-2 Stockton.
  • Friday, April 26 – Game four was another wild nail biter for the Ports and Nuts at John Thurman Stadium on Friday night, with Modesto winning on a walk-off three-run homer from Lazaro Montes in a 13-10 victory for the Nuts. Daryln Montero went 3 for 4 with 3 doubles. Nate Nankil had a 2-RBI game going 2 for 3 with 3 runs scored.
  • Saturday, April 27 –  Game five saw The Modesto Nuts struck early and often on Saturday night, defeating the Ports 17-2 at John Thurman Field to take a 4-1 series lead. Modesto (14-4) plated two in the first, one in the second, an four in the third to jump out to a 7-0 lead, capitalizing on the eight walks issued by starter Drew Conover.
  • Sunday, April 28 –  The Stockton Ports came back form a two-run deficit on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Modesto Nuts 4-3 after scoring one in the fourth and two in the eighth to complete the comeback.

  • Luke Mann is 11 for his last 38 (.286) with a triple, 7 RBI, and 1 HR in his last 10 games. He leads the team in total bases over that time with 17.
  • Ryan Lasko is 5 for his last 19 (.263) over his last six games, with a .500 OBP and 3 stolen bases
  • Chen Zhong-Ao Zhuang has allowed just 2 earned runs in 8.2 innings with 13 strikeouts to only two walks.

This will be the first time the two teams have met this season. The Rawhide caught the best of the Ports in 2023 going 9-3 against Stockton.
