RAWHIDE WIN IN 10, GIANTS LOSE 6TH STRAIGHT

The Visalia Rawhide got a run in the top of the 10th inning to edge the San Jose Giants 5-4 on Tuesday night at Excite Ballpark. Junior Franco singled in the installed runner for the deciding run and the Rawhide (9-7) pulled even with Lake Elsinore at the top of the South Division.

Deyvison De Los Santos had three hits and moved his batting average up to .319, second in the Cal League among active players. Jacen Roberson was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

Junior Mieses (W, 1-2) pitched the final 2 1/3 innings for the Rawhide to pick up the win. Mieses allowed no runs and just one hit and one walk with six strikeouts.

Victor Bericoto had three hits, including his eighth home run of the season for San Jose. Grant McCray hit his 13th homer.

Game two of the six-game series is Wednesday afternoon at 1PM.
