MODESTO SHUTS OUT STOCKTON 6-0

The Modesto Nuts maintained their one-game lead in the North division with a 6-0 shutout of the Stockton Ports on Friday night at John Thurman Field. Walking Cabrera singled in three runs in the first inning and Colin Davis homered and drove in two runs to lead the offense.

Jordan Jackson (W, 5-7) went six shutout innings for Modesto, allowing two hits and no walks with seven strikeouts. Tyler Driver pitched two scoreless innings in relief and Raul Alcantara threw a scoreless ninth inning. Stockton was held to just three hits.

Cabrera got Modesto on the board in the first inning with a bases-loaded double to make it 3-0. Davis hit his third home run of the season in the fifth inning, a solo shot that made it 4-0. The Nuts rallied for two more runs in the sixth inning with Davis adding an RBI single to make it 6-0.

At 9-4, Modesto stayed up a game on Fresno (8-5) at the top of the North division.

The two teams have split the first four games of the six-game series. Game five is Saturday night at 6:05PM.
