LINARES SPARKS STORM WITH 3-RUN SHOT

Oswaldo Linares belted a three-run home run to put Lake Elsinore on the board in the fourth inning and erase a 1-0 deficit and the Storm went on to win 6-3 over the Quakes on Thursday night at LoanMart Field. After being held scoreless over the first five innings, Linares’ second home run of the season sparked the offense, which scored six time over the last four innings.

Sam Mongelli put the Quakes on the board in the bottom of the fifth with his first home run of the season, breaking a scoreless tie. Lake Elsinore went up for good on Linares’ blast and the Storm added on with single runs in the eighth and ninth.

At 23-28, Rancho Cucamonga dropped a game behind Lake Elsinore (24-27) for second place in the South division. The Quakes won the first half.

Game four of the six-game series is Friday at 6:30 PM.
