66ERS TAKE THIRD STRAIGHT FROM QUAKES

Inland Empire @ Rancho Cucamonga Gm 3

The Inland Empire 66ers got back-to-back homers in the fourth inning and dropped the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes by a score of 5-3 on Thursday night, making it three straight wins in the six-game series. Alberto Rios hit a two-run shot to break a 1-1 tie and Cam Williams followed with a solo homer, giving the 66ers a lead they would never give up.

Four pitchers held the Quakes to single runs in third, sixth and seventh as they tried to claw their way back, but a sac fly by Williams in the eighth made it 5-3.

Thayron Liranzo had two hits, including his 18th home run for Rancho. Josue De Paula doubled and drove in two runs.

Inland Empire (24-15) has won six straight and leads the Sout division by five games. Rancho Cucamonga (16-23) is eight games back. Game four of the series is Friday at 6:30PM.
