KNOWLES GOES 3-FOR-5, WALKS IT OFF FOR 66ERS

D’Shawn Knowles went 3-for-5 with a triple and a game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Inland Empire 66ers beat the Visalia Rawhide 4-3 on Wednesday night. Edgar Quero had two hits, including an RBI double, and knocked in a run for the 66ers.

The Rawhide took a 2-0 lead in the 2nd inning before Inland Empire put three on the board in the third inning behind Quero’s RBI double and an RBI single from Knowles.

Visalia tied it up in the 6th on an RBI double by Deyvison De Los Santos. The 18-year old from the Dominican Republic went 2-for-4 on the night.

Alejandro Hidalgo went 5 1/3 innings for Inland Empire, allowing three runs (2 ER) on five hits with no walks and eight strikeouts. Hidalgo is the Los Angels’ #18 prospect, per MLB.com.

Kyle Molnar came on for 2 2/3 scoreless innings with one hit, no walks and four strikeouts. Hayden Seig (W, 3-1) went the final inning with one hit and one strikeout to earn the win.

The 66ers have won the first two games of the six-game series with game three on Thursday night at 7:05.
