Sam Weatherly and three relievers shutout the Giants on 4 hits and 4 BBs. Weatherly went 6IP, 2H, 1BB, 7K, 73 pitches, 52 strikes. SS Ezequiel Tovar hit his 9th HR, 1B Colin Simpson homered for the third time in five games. Fresno takes over first place in the North division at 38-21.

C Diego Cartaya went 1-for-2 with 2 walks, 4 RBIs and his 9th homer of the year. SS Eddys Leonard went 1-for-1 with 3 walks and a homer (10). Rancho Cucamonga (31-27) won its 6th straight and hold a 1-game lead in the South.

RF Caleb Scires went 3-for-4 with a double and 3 RBIs. C Gustavo Campero hit his first home run of the season. RHP Coleman Crowe (W, 3-0) went 6 IP and allowed 1 run on 2H and 3BB with 10Ks. Inland Empire (30-28) won its 6th straight and has won 7 of 10. The 66ers are a game back of Rancho Cucamonga in the South division.

 

FUTURES GAME TODAY

The 2021 Futures Game airs on the MLB Network today at noon Pacific time. Two players from the Low-A West are on the rosters:

C Tyler Soderstrom, Stockton
SS Marco Luciano – San Jose

They are on opposite teams as the Futures Game is an American League vs. National League event. This all-star game takes place at Coors Field in Denver in the lead up to Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game.
