PORTS WIN WITH BIG INNING, 9-4 OVER STORM

The Stockton Ports put up five runs in the fifth inning and went on to win 9-4 over the Lake Elsinore Storm on Thursday night at Banner Island Ballpark.  Jhoan Paulino doubled in two runs in the decisive rally and Junior Perez hit his 11th homer of the year to power the Ports to victory.

Yehizon Sanchez (W, 2-5) went five innings and gave up two runs on five hits and three walks with three strikeouts.

Leadoff man Caeden Trenkle was 2-for-5 with a triple and two RBIs for Stockton. Danny Bautista had two hits, including a double.

The Storm took a 1-o lead in the top of the first inning, but Stockton came back with three in the second and added a run in the third on Perez’ blast. Lake Elsinore cut it to 4-2 with a run in the fifth but Stockton answered with five runs to build the lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

Lake Elsinore has won two of the first three games of the series with game four on Friday night at 7:05PM.
