The Grizzlies (29-18) kept pace in the North division, staying four games back of San Jose with the win. SS Ezequiel Tovar stayed hot with a 2-for-4 night including his seventh homer of the  season. It was Tovar’s fourth straight multi-hit game. Visalia outhit Fresno 14-8 but came up short. Fresno has won three of the five games so far and go for a series win today while Visalia is looking for a split.

The Giants (33-14) have won all five games of this series and left the South division with no teams over .500 as Rancho Cucamonga is now 23-23. San Jose C Fabian Pena went 2-for-4 with a homer and CF Alex Canario went 2-for-4, both with two RBIs. RHP Carson Ragsdale allowed just one earned run over five innings with three hits, three walks and nine strikeouts.

A classic California League game, Modesto scored 12 runs on 15 hits and sweated out a one-run victory. LF Trent Tinglestad led the barrage with a 4-for-5 night that included two homers, a double and five RBI. Starter Damon Casetta-Stubbs (W,  3-3) got the win despite allowing seven earned runs over five innings. Lake Elsinore’s Carlos Guarate took one for the team with 3 1/3 IP, 11 runs (10ER), 13 hits and a walk with one strikeout. Despite all the offense, this game still finished in under 3 hours (2:59), thanks to the pitch clock.

Down 2-1 in the top of the 9th innings, Stockton’s offense came to life to score six runs. RHP Grant Judkins went five innings allowing one run on three hits and two walks with five strikeouts. Pedro Santos (W, 2-1) threw three innings out of the bullpen and allowed one run on two hits and two walks with three strikeouts. C Tyler Soderstrom extended his hitting streak to eight games, going 2-for-5 on the night. Soderstrom, Oakland’s #1 prospect, is 14-for-36 with three doubles, a triple and three homers during the streak. Stockton (20-27) has won seven of their last 10 games.

66ers starter Robinson Pina  went six innings allowing one run on three hits and  two walks with eight strikeouts.
