SUNDAY MATCHUPS

Game 3’s are up next in the four-game holiday weekends series across the board. The race in the South is getting interesting as the first-place Rancho Cucamonga Quakes have lost five straight while Inland Empire has won five straight. That leaves the Quakes with a 1 1/2 game lead over the 66ers. High Desert is just two games back.

The Visalia Rawhide hold a 10-game lead in the North and have won seven of their last 10. The combination of Visalia’s 31-12 record along with the rest of the division being under .500 has taken all the drama out of this race.
