PORTS WIN PITCHER’S DUEL WITH RUN IN THE 9TH

The Stockton Ports squeezed home a run in the top of the ninth inning and made it stand up for a 1-0 win over the Fresno Grizzlies at Chukchansi Park on Sunday night. Four pitchers combined on the shutout as the Ports ended a five-game losing streak.

A one-out double by Cam Masterman in the ninth inning put the eventual winning run in scoring position. Pinch runner Junior Perez advanced to third on a wild pitch and came home on a bunt by Cooper Uhl.

The Stockton pitching staff was led by Mitch Myers who pitched into the seventh inning of a scoreless tie. Myers went 6 1/3 innings and gave up two hits and two walks with three strikeouts.
