Yoscar Pimentel shut out the Stockton Ports over six innings on five hits, striking out 14 batters without a walk as the Visalia Rawhide rolled to a 7-0 win on Thursday night at Valley Strong Ballpark. A five-run fourth inning was more than enough for Visalia to win for the second time in three games in the series with the Ports.
Pimentel (W, 3-2) gave up a leadoff double to Dereck Salmon to start the game but got out of the inning with his first two strikeouts. After striking out the side in the second and third innings, he had already set a new season-high with eight.
Jack Hurley doubled and drove in two runs for Visalia. Jose Fernandez was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
The Rawhide have outscored the Ports 16-1 over the last two games.
Visalia (13-20) is now five games out in the South Division. Stockton (11-22) is 14 games back in the North.
