PORTS WIN THIRD STRAIGHT

The Stockton Ports jumped on the Fresno Grizzlies for five first-inning runs and went on to a 12-6 win at Banner Island Ballpark Thursday night. It was the third straight win for the surging Ports and their fourth straight at home.

Colby Thomas and Luis Marinez singled in runs to put Stockton up 2-0 in the first inning. Henry Bolte doubled in a pair and Bjay Cooke finished off the 5-run rally with a fielder’s choice that brought in a run.

The Grizzlies clawed back with two in the second and two in the fourth to get to within 6-4, but the Ports continued to pile up runs, including a four-run sixth inning to put the game away.

Bolte was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and three RBIs.

Brennan Milone was 2-for-4 with a walk and three runs scored.

Right-hander Jake Garland (W, 1-2) went six innings in relief, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks with four strikeouts.
