The Modesto Nuts surrendered the lead in the top of the eighth inning, then got four runs in the bottom half to secure a 9-6 win over Fresno on Tuesday night at John Thurman Field. With their 13th win in their last 16 games, Modesto moved to within four games of first-place Fresno in the North division.
Brock Rodden went 2-for-5 and tripled in a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the Nuts the lead back. Two more runs followed on a wild pitch and a bases-loaded HBP.
