STORM EVEN SERIES WITH 10TH INNING WALK-OFF

FRESNO @ LAKE ELSINORE GM 2

Nick Vogt drove in the winning run with a 10th-inning single as Lake Elsinore evened up its three-game series with Fresno with a 3-2 win at The Diamond on Saturday. The first-place Grizzlies got a run in the top of the ninth to force extras but the Storm got the walk-off win for its fifth victory in its last seven games.

Starter Miguel Mendez went four shutout innings for Lake Elsinore allowing two hits and two walks with four strikeouts. The bullpen got it to the ninth with a 2-1 Storm lead before Fresno struck for the tying run on a Dyan Jorge RBI single.

Tyler Robertson was 3-for-5 with an RBI single that gave the Storm a short-lived 2-1 lead in the seventh. Vogt also had three hits.

Thomas Balboni Jr. (W, 2-3) pitched a scoreless 10th inning to pick up the win.

Lake Elsinore (8-9) remains three games back of first-place Inland Empire in the South division. Fresno (14-3) has a seven-game lead in the North.

The rubber game of the three-game series is Sunday at 1:15PM.
