The Stockton Ports gave up three runs in the top of the 12th inning and then walked it off with five in the bottom half to beat the San Jose Giants 12-10 and win four of six games in the series. Brayan Buelvas drilled a pinch-hit three-run homer to end the game on Sunday afternoon at Banner Island Ballpark.
The two teams traded runs from the opening frame and after nine innings they were locked up at six apiece. They each posted single runs in the 10th and then had a scoreless 11th before the fireworks resumed in the 12th.
The Ports overcame seven errors in the field and 17 strikeouts at the plate. Four of the 12 runs were unearned.
At 12-27, Stockton is 12 games back of San Jose (24-15) in the North division. The Ports travel to Fresno to start a six-game series with an 11:05 game on Tuesday. The Giants will be at Modesto.
