LHP Patrick Corbin saw game action for the first time since Tommy John surgery and drew a tough assignment in the heavy-hitting Lancaster Jethawks. Corbin started for the Rawhide in Visalia last night and gave up four first-inning runs on four hits and two walks while recording two outs. Corbin, a 14-game winner for the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2013, was taken out due to pitch count restrictions.
The Jethawks, Cal League leaders in many team offensive categories, rode the four-run first inning to an 8-3 win over the Rawhide. Lancaster (31-26) stayed three games back of Rancho Cucamonga in the South division while Visalia (37-20), despite the loss, remained 10 games up on Modesto (27-30) and Stockton (27-30) in the North.
