The Visalia Rawhide pounded out 13 hits for an 11-3 win Saturday night in Lancaster to force a deciding Game 5 tonight against the Jethawks. Alex Glenn and Raul Navarro homered and knocked in three runs apiece as the Rawhide staved off elimination.
The 2014 California League champion will be crowned tonight. Lancaster is looking for its second title in three years while Visalia is trying to Reverse The Curse, which goes all the way back to 1978.
The Jethawks held a 2-1 lead through five innings before the Rawhide started hitting the ball all over the yard. Two runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh put Visalia up 5-2. Then the game was blown open with a six-run seventh inning. Spencer Arroyo went 6 2/3 innings for the win while Keith Hessler and Enrique Burgos finished it off.
Tonight’s deciding Game 5 starts at 6:30PM at The Hangar in Lancaster.
