PITCHER OF THE WEEK – CHRIS DEVENSKI, RHP, LANCASTER
Devenski threw seven shutout innings against Stockton on Wednesday and evened his Cal League record on the season at 5-5. Pitching both as a starter and reliever, Devenski also has two saves on the season. Over 76 2/3 innings, the right-hander walked just 12 while striking out 77. His 0 BB/ 8 K performance last week was his last before being called up to AA Corpus Christi, where he threw four one-runĀ innings of relief last night.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – SEAN BUCKLEY, DH, BAKERSFIELD
Buckley had a nice 12-for-24 week as he continued his hot hitting after coming back from Tommy John surgery. Buckley slashed .500/.556/1.000 with three homers and 12 RBI. In one four-game stretch, the Florida native went 11-for-16 with three homers and scored seven runs. After playing 24 games for Dayton, Buckley has been red-hot over 15 games for Bakersfield.
