SS Carlos Correa was injured Saturday night while sliding into third base on a triple at Lake Elsinore. The top overall pick of the 2012 First Year Player Draft was carried off the field and the extent of the injury will be known after being evaluated in Houston this week.
A post on Bleacher Report has several quotes from Correa, Astros’ GM Jeffrey Luhnow and injury expert Will Carrol.
The 19-year old from Puerto Rico was enjoying a great season at the plate and in the field and was not far off from being promoted to AA. Correa has a slash line of .325/.416/.510 and has drawn raves for his play at shortstop.
